With Brown’s usual style of short chapters packed with action, “Inferno” leaves you wondering whose side you are on. He is suffering from amnesia and must put together the clues he already solved before being shot. Readers first encounter Langdon in the hospital recovering from a gunshot wound to the head. This time, Brown is racing the clock against a mad scientist who has created a real life version of Alighieri’s famed “Inferno” part of his “Divine Comedy.” His reasoning is that human beings are a plague to the planet and within 100 years will multiply to the point that the Earth’s natural resources will no longer be able to sustain us.īut it won’t be easy. Released on May 14, Brown once again dives into the world of Langdon, a Harvard art history professor with an outstanding knowledge of iconography. Dan Brown, master of puzzles and art, brings his character Robert Langdon into a new vision of Dante Alighieri’s layered hell with his new book “Inferno.”
